New Beginnings

Somehow, it seems fitting to be talking about new beginings. It’s actual spring, but I’ve also been in a life-season of planting and waiting. And I’m hoping to start to see something grow.

About a year ago, I let go of a really good job. I was working as an interior designer on challenging and fun projects with teams of  designers and architects in a commercial architecture firm. I loved so many aspects of it, but in my particular season of life, I found myself often overwhelmed and burned out. I looked at all the things that God had given me – my time, my talents, and my responsibilities – and decided to trust Him with it. All those things belonged to Him anyway, so whatever He had planned to do with them, I was “in”.

God reminded me of this verse: “For we are His masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do” Ephesians 2:10.

So, here I am, exploring what that might look like. Looking at the way God designed me and the good works that need to be done in the world and seeing how they intersect.

It seems a little too good to be true that I’m a masterpiece (we all are!)

But He said it and I’m believing He’s up to something beautiful!
